Frequently Asked Questions

  • You can sign up for a course on our website section ‘Join a Class’. This will take you to our Sign-up Form. Alternatively, send an email to info@cookingup.org or leave a message on 07841024085.

  • We currently run our classes at 3 centres:

    • Inspired Hub in Hampton

    • Ham Youth Centre

    • Whitton Community Centre

  • A class is 1.5 hours long

  • Most of our sessions are for over 18s, but we do also run parent and child cookery classes.

    Under special circumstances, we can accommodate teenagers but they must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • All our recipes are vegetarian and can be adapted for vegans.

  • You tell us about any dietary allergies and intolerances when you sign up and in most cases we can accommodate.

    However, we cannot guarantee that all ingredients are free from traces of allergens.

  • You can tell us about any disabilities and access requirements when you sign up and we will do our utmost to accommodate this so you can attend.

  • You don’t need to bring anything with you as we will provide all the ingredients, equipment and an apron for you to use during the class. Just come in comfortable clothes and footwear.

  • Yes, we will give you re-useable containers with lids to take home your meal. We encourage you to bring these back to each class so they can be reused which helps reduce waste.

     

  • Yes, all our recipes are cooked on the hob and don’t require an oven, even our pizza recipe!

  • We provide all the ingredients for the recipe but if there is an ingredient you don’t like you can leave it out if possible.

  • To get the best out of the course, we do like you to attend all the sessions.

    However, if you know in advance there is a date you can’t make, please let us know so we can offer it to someone on the waiting list.

  • Please let us know as soon as you can if you can’t attend so we can offer to someone on our waiting list so the ingredients we've bought for you doesn't go to waste.
